In short
- Leander workers spent about 29 minutes getting to work, one way, in 2020-2024. The county average was about 28 minutes.1
- About 75 of every 100 people 16 and older were in the work force. In the county it was about 71.1
- About 53 of every 100 adults 25 and older had at least a four-year degree. In the county it was about 48.1
How it works
- These numbers come from a Census survey, the American Community Survey. It asks a sample of homes each year. The Census Bureau pools five years, here 2020 to 2024.1
- A survey has a margin of error. Small gaps between Leander and the county may not be real.1
- “In the work force” means working or looking for work. It counts people 16 and older, not in the military.1

- Leander households are a bit bigger on average, with about 2.8 people each.1
- Poverty and health insurance are close to the county figures. QuickFacts gives no margin of error here, so we cannot tell if these small gaps are real.1
The other side
- An average trip hides a range. It does not show how many trips are much shorter or longer.1
- Five-year numbers lag. They blend 2020 to 2024, so they may not match today.1
- A higher work force share is not a measure of wealth. It shows who is working or looking, not what they earn. See leander jobs and income.
What you can do or watch next
- See leander homes and rent for home values and rent from the same survey.
- Watch for the 2021-2025 survey numbers, when the Census Bureau puts them out.
What we still don’t know
- Where Leander workers work. This table does not say.
- The margin of error for each figure. QuickFacts does not print it on this page.
Questions to ask
- Does the city track where its working residents work?
- Where does the city post the job data it uses?
Changes to this page
- Nov. 2, 2026: Added questions to ask.
- Nov. 2, 2026: We fixed a line that called households “homes” and noted that small gaps may not be real.
