In short

We used the same typical home as where your tax bill goes: worth $442,944.1 With the rates adopted for 2026, the city, county, county road and college lines come to about $4,063.234 That is about $33 more than the same lines in 2025.4 The school line is not shown here (see below).

The worked example

Same home and exemptions as the 2025 page. Only the rates change.15

WhoTaxed value2025 rate2026 adopted rate2026 tax
City of Leander$437,944$0.4173$0.417282$1,827
Williamson County$420,797$0.3694$0.381218$1,604
County roads (FM/RD)$439,944$0.0443$0.040329$177
Austin Community College$437,944$0.1034$0.1036433$454
Total without school line$4,063

How one line works: $420,797 ÷ 100 × $0.381218 = $1,604.4 In 2025 these four lines were $1,827 + $1,555 + $195 + $453 = $4,030.4

Why no school line

  • The school district’s 2026 rate depends on the Nov. 3 election, so we are holding it until after the vote.

Your own bill

The other side

  • Rates barely moved. The county rate went up a little, the road rate went down and the city rate stayed the same.2 Your value matters as much as the rate.
  • One home is not you. Use the county’s tax-rate site to see your own estimate; see notice of estimated taxes.

Questions to ask

  • Where does the tax office post each unit’s adopted rate for this year?
  • How can an owner get a line-by-line copy of their own bill?
